Week Commencing Jan 16 2012: Charles Burns, Silhouette Cutter
A special day deserves a special memento! There are not many silhouette cutters in the U.K. and we are delighted to be working with several of the very best.
Our featured artiste captures recognisable features very quickly so guests can take home a souvenir to treasure.
Ideal for weddings, holiday venues, corporate events and private parties.

Charles Burns Guest Speaker
We were proud to feature Charles Burns, the Silhouette Cutter, as one of our very first Artists Of The Week, but now he’s also presenting fascinating talks about silhouettes and their history so you can share some of his research into this intriguing art in a very entertaining way! He can also bring some antique silhouettes & illustrate the talk with slides - however, the emphasis will be on the stories behind the work and the silhouettes he can make on the day.
Everyone can find themselves surprised and delighted by a simple silhouette but to learn about them from an expert should be a real joy for any audience. WI dinners, art and literary societies and family parties have all loved this show. So what about you?
The video shows part of a talk staged in Charles’ own studio: “From Shadowgraph screens to Portrait Machines”

Clown Zaz
Not everyone can actually tour their own small circus but Clown Zaz has done this for 2 seasons with great success, plus lots of work, early starts & some heavy lifting as he builds his own venue before performing!
Hand-picked circus performers work in Circus Pazaz creating a full circus themed show to amaze & entertain you. Shows can be tailored to suit budgets & feature quality acts including aerial hoop, silk or trapeze on their own free standing aerial rig.
When the tent has been packed away for the winter, Zaz would love to be your Christmas Elf or set up his circus stage from inside the tent for a more elaborate office party or family event.
Please take a look at this charming video, produced by the BBC and contact Apple County for details about the shows.

The Copperfield Ensemble
Unusual event needing an unusual attraction? How’s about a Steampunk band? These guys have performed at The Full Steam Metal Jacket Festival in Wales, Morwellham Quay in Devon and other venues across the West Country.
Something original is certainly what you’ll get with The Copperfield Ensemble. The Ensemble play Neo-Victorian Music Hall Steampunk music and they’re all either classically trained musicians or experienced rock musicians.
This is a family friendly band who specialise in getting any audience singing and dancing along, with songs that tell stories of historical figures and events. How many other bands do you know who sing about Isambard Kingdom Brunel or use a shovel as a percussion instrument?
